Happy Reunion

It is not often that a veterinary hospital gets to witness even one microchip success story (see Winston’s story below), let alone two within 12 months of each other. But that is exactly what happened in July, 2007 when Kal was re-united with his owner who lives one hour south of Blue Ridge.

Kal (see picture right) was found running along one of Fannin County’s country roads and brought to our hospital by one of our many conscientious clients. As part of our routine protocol with any lost pet brought to us, the dog was scanned for a microchip, and lo and behold, one was found!

Immediately we contacted the client, who was elated by the news of his found pet. Kal had been missing for a week. Surprisingly it was not a case of Kal being lost after a trip to the north Georgia mountains. The client had never been to our area of the state and had no idea where Blue Ridge was located. Regardless of how Kal “got away,” we are just happy that he is re-united with his owner.
Happy Ending After Three Years Apart!

We often hear about the success stories of pet recovery with microchips, but it’s rare that anyone gets to experience one that occurred three years after the pet disappeared.

For our staff that changed in November 2006 when Winston (see picture) was reunited with his owner after being separated for three years.

The moments leading up to the reunion were exciting, to say the least. Our staff was filled with anticipation as the client waited in the lobby and Winston was escorted from our kennel. Winston’s reaction did not disappoint onlookers as he showed no hesitation upon hearing his master’s call. It was a happy reunion.

Rosie is Home Again

Rosie, an English Bulldog, was under our care for an ongoing eye condition. Unbeknownst to us, Rosie wandered away from home. When a caring citizen brought in the missing pet, one of our employees recognized Rosie right away. Within several hours, we had reunited Rosie with her very happy owners. The family, including a young daughter, wasted no time showering Rosie with hugs and kisses. They also decided….to give her a Home Again microchip.
